Farm to School week is this coming week! Our farm to school menu this year features: locally raised ground beef from Zion’s Farm in Linville, pork from Bakers Pork in Mt. Jackson, freshly harvested potatoes from Valley Farming in Dayton, lettuce from Portwood Gardens in Dayton, apples from Showalter's Orchard in Timberville, and zucchini from Hanover, VA.
The Crunch Heard 'Round the Commonwealth is an event held Thursday, October 10, 2024. To celebrate the event, participants across the Commonwealth will take a bite out of a Virginia grown apple, producing the celebratory “Crunch.” Together, we will make some noise for farm to school! All lunch meals on Thursday, October 10, include the choice of a locally grown apple from Showalter's Orchard in Timberville.
